How to Stick to a Resolution

It's that time of year where we've decided important changes are ahead but maybe we're finding implementing them more difficult than anticipated, we're here to help with handy tips we've discovered ourselves!

1. Set Realistic Goals

Don't be too idealistic, make sure your aims are achievable otherwise you might be setting yourself up for failure.

2. One Step at a Time

Keep your resolution clear, ensure it's just one thing as opposed mixture of all the things you'd like to change. Keep it simple, to succeed you should focus on one thing at a time. Write it down, if it takes up more than one sentence it's more than one resolution!

3. Make it a Habit

As they say it takes 28 days to make something a habit or to break one. Keep a diary of the first 28 days, yes it will be hard, you can acknowledge that and reward the good work you're doing, if the 28-day trick is right it'll get a lot easier from there on :)

4. Tell Friends and Family

Let your loved ones know what you're doing, it'll help to have their support and encouragement. Hopefully they'll also remember not to tempt you.

5. Break it Down

It might help to break your resolution into parts. Break it into quarters and see how far you've come every three months. Reflection is sure to make you feel good about your pursuits and keep you motivated.
